1986 Gibson Firebird V heather poly

1986 Gibson Firebird V, heather poly. Made in USA, serial number 82826550. While definitely a real Gibson guitar, it has us scratching our heads quite a bit - our best guess is that this is an employee guitar. The color is incredibly nice and it looks like it's original to the guitar. Most of the hardware was swapped at one point and the pickup routes were enlarged for humbucker sized pickups (currently mounts P-90 style pickups). We have this on consignment from a pro-player who also happens to be a luthier, so it plays and sounds truly fine. Weighs 3.7kg.
